On the 4th March the Bangkok congregation was visited by the Apostle Wolf who conducted the Service for the Departed. Around 50 members and guests  took part in this special service, including the members of our Thai congregation, and it was a very touchy and blissful event. The musical program, put together by our resident organist and violinist, set the stage for a dignified and graceful gathering. At the end of the service, we all bid farewell to our remarkable sister Swenja Steinwender, who will return to Munich after a 2 year stint in Bangkok. Our sister Munguambe also returns to Maputo after a short study stay in Bangkok, and we wish both of them the best of blessings whereever they will settle down.

The Christmas service in Bangkok is an event with a long standing tradition.  Every year the 2 Bangkok congregations meet together and this year a beautiful music program set the tone for a blissful gathering.  Unfortunately, some of our members and children were sick at home and hence not able to attend.  After the service, everybody shared some delicious food and all of the members enjoyed a warm and wonderful fellowship.  Some of our visitors and guests were happy to be part of this joyous event and we hope that they will visit us again next year.  What would be Christmas without children and some fo them just were delightful to watch and to be around with.  We extend our thanks to all members who made this great event possible.

The flood situation in Bangkok, which is also called the "city  of angels" deteriorated substantially over the last couple of days. 3 Bangkok Districts are now up to 100% emerged in water and our two churches have been closed down temporarily, as the locations are situated in high risk flood prone areas. Some families including the rector evacuated their families, as the situation at this point of time is unclear and unpredictable. We thank all of you for your prayers and with the help of the angels the "city of angels" will be spared of this natural desaster.  We are looking forward to seeing you again at our church once the church is back in operation.
